Positively, Penelope is a sweet story with a fun mix of epistolary and in-person telling. It features a family theater on the brink of disaster and Penelope, a quirky "Julie Andrews"-style heroine, determined to save it—it is an enjoyable story with mystery, monsters, and musical musings. I love Pepper Basham's humor and storytelling style!
