Gena Bessire writes Christian romance with a signature blend of humor, hope, and happily-ever-afters. Her stories span contemporary suspense, contemporary small-town romance, and late-1800s historical romance—because no matter the setting, love (and a few laughs) always belong. A lifelong storyteller, Gena grew up spinning adventures for her siblings, cousins, and the kids she babysat. That creative spark never faded. Today, she writes inspirational romance inspired by her favorite things: God and His steadfast faithfulness, humor, adventure, falling in love, and the kind of endings that leave readers smiling.

Gena earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with majors in Math and Reading from Eastern Washington University—where she also met her handsome, brilliant husband and their Happily Ever After…umm…very real and very busy life began. After teaching preschool for a few years, she “retired” to stay home, run an online craft empire, and raise their growing family.

When she’s not putting her characters through the emotional wringer (in the nicest way), she’s a full-time wife, a mom of many, and the owner of a small craft empire. You can also find her creating bookish goodies in her shop.

If she has a little time left in the day, she’s talking with her mom and siblings, exploring her gardens, cleaning forgotten corners of the house, or curling up with a good book. But more often than not, she’s at her computer—because honestly, she’d rather be writing.

Gena lives in beautiful (and sometimes wild) Washington State in the Pacific Northwest with her super supportive husband, their daughters and sons, and a herd of cats.
