In His Treasured Bride, Daisy Harper is a young woman who recently arrived in Nanaimo, Vancouver Island, via a bride ship armed with her sewing supplies and a husband-requirement list. Ready to start her new life as a seamstress and look for the perfect man, she is surprised by a visit from a fellow bride-ship friend, Willow. Willow asks Daisy to safeguard a key that supposedly unlocks a treasure of gold. Seth Ryann, a mapmaker in Nanaimo, was given a map with clues to the same treasure. He and Daisy get thrown together when thieves try to steal the map and key from them. The only way to keep their town safe from the dangerous men threatening Nanaimo and its residents is to enter a temporary marriage, for propriety's sake, and strike out to find and retrieve the gold before anyone else gets hurt.
This is a delightful read by Patti Stockdale with the help of Jody Hedlund. Patti brings this next Bride Ships: New Voyages story to life with a thrilling treasure hunt, ruthless criminals on Daisy and Seth's heels, and a budding friendship that could become something more if Daisy and Seth can put their fears aside.
